Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Luang Prabang.

  • Upon arrival in Luang Prabang you're greeted by a local representative and taken to your hotel. Your guide can give a short introduction to the city en route. The rest of today is free to relax or explore at your own leisure.

  • Take a tuk-tuk with your guide to a small village known for its skill at pottery making. Spend time with a local family who will teach you how to make your own masterpiece, which will be fired and delivered to your hotel in 24 hours.

  • An early rise this morning to witness the Luang Prabang tradition of giving alms to the local monks. From here, head to the stunning Kuang Si Falls with your guide, where you can enjoy breakfast and take a swim if you wish. In the afternoon visit Mandalao, one of the best and most ethical elephant experiences in the area to see these gentle giants up close.

  • This morning is free to relax or explore at your own leisure. You may wish to visit the market again to take home some souvenirs or simply relax by the hotel's pool. Drive to the airport this afternoon by private transfer to catch a flight to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. On arrival you're met and escorted to your hotel in the heart of the old quarter.

  • Leave the busy city and visit the local village of Ky Son for a bike ride through the countryside. Lunch will be served in the village before you finish at a local homestay for a snack and herbal foot bath.

  • After breakfast, you're collected from your hotel and transferred to Haiphong with a private driver and guide. The journey here takes around two and a half hours. Upon arrival, board your traditional Vietnamese Junk for an afternoon cruising around the thousands of islets that make up this spectacular area. This evening enjoy dinner on board while watching the sunset over the bay. All meals are included while on board.

  • Visit one of the many islands for a bike ride around the local villages. In the afternoon join in for a cooking class on board.

  • Rise early to view the sunrise over the stunning limestone islets from your cabin before driving to back to Hanoi by private transfer this afternoon in time for your flight to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An.

  • Spend today at leisure, you may wish to visit Hoi An's beach or explore the charming old town. Be sure to try some of the excellent restaurants serving cuisine that can only be found in central Vietnam.

  • You'll be driven to a local farm today where you will don a traditional Vietnamese outfit before heading into the field. Watch the farmer work with the farm's water buffalo to plough the field and get your hands dirty participating in the harvest.

  • Spend the morning relaxing before your evening flight to Siem Reap, gateway to the Temples of Angkor. On arrival your driver and guide will meet you for the drive to your boutique hotel on the outskirts of town.

  • Meet your guide this morning for an exciting scavenger hunt around the temples of Angkor Thom by tuk-tuk. In the afternoon join your guide for an exploration of the most famous of the temples, Angkor Wat.

  • Visit a local conservation community with your guide today to learn about traditional life in Cambodia and the efforts to maintain its unique environment. Enjoy a boat ride on the Tonle Sap, walk or bike through the community farms, and relax in a hammock after a picnic lunch overlooking the rice fields.

  • Private transfer back to the airport for your journey home.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
