Spice Island Beach Resort
The Grand Dame of Grenada hotels, Spice Island offers luxurious but by no means pompous surroundings in which to relax and unwind. Set on the white sands of Grand Anse, it exudes an elegant old-world charm but with a perfectly up-to-date style.

For families
Although the majority of guests are couples, Spice Island welcomes children and offers a children’s activity centre for ages 3-12 years, as well as a babysitting service. The beach is good for families as it shelves gently and the waters are sheltered.
There is a separate dining area for children under 5 in the evenings.
Location
The resort is set on the beautiful Grand Anse Beach, one of the best on the island. Rightly popular with both locals and visitors, the beach is large enough that it never feels crowded and the southern end, where Spice Island sits, is the quietest bit.
There is a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops in the area and the capital, St George’s is only ten minutes’ drive.

This elegant, sophisticated resort offers luxurious accommodation on a stunning beach coupled with friendly, personal service that keeps guests returning time and time again.
Rooms
Although the resort sits on quite a large area, there are only 64 luxuriously appointed suites set among the beautifully manicured gardens or along the beachfront.
The rooms have a fresh, bright, contemporary décor with plenty of space and all of the comforts you would expect including air-conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, Wi-Fi, complimentary stocked minibar and a terrace or balcony.
Oleander Superior and Garden Suite
Only a short distance from the beach and tucked away in the lush tropical gardens in two storey blocks, these suites are a spacious 60 sq m.
Sea Grape Beach Suite
Step directly onto the white sands of Grand Anse Beach from these stunning suites which offer 70 sq m of inside space including a sitting area, as well as a patio with sun loungers and a double hammock. There’s even an ocean view from the bathroom and the sunsets from these suites are spectacular.
Anthurium Pool Suite
Fabulous for couples wanting more privacy, these suites are tucked away in their own courtyard garden with a plunge pool.
Luxury Almond Pool Suite
Each spacious suite is 150 sq m and features a pool and an outdoor dining terrace. These suites are the ultimate romantic retreat and all feature a luxurious canopy bed.
The Royal Collection Pool Suite
These 150 sq m villas feature a luxurious marble bathroom, a cedar sauna and a pool set amidst spice scented gardens.
Cinnamon & Saffron Suites
The Cinnamon Suite and the Saffron Suite offer palatial accommodation at the water's edge. Measuring 140 sq m, these indulgent suites are fully equipped with a Bose Lifestyle Entertainment system, large LCD TV, a spacious living room with a wet bar and a parlour bathroom. The bedroom features a floating canopy bed and a bathroom with views to the sea.

Activities, diving & excursions
There is a large pool at the resort and a range of complimentary non-motorised water sports including Hobie Cats, kayaks and paddleboards. Snorkelling equipment is also available although better snorkelling conditions are found by taking a boat trip. On land there is a floodlit tennis court and fitness centre and Spice Island guests enjoy complimentary green fees at the 9-hole Grenada Golf Club.
There are some fabulous diving opportunities in Grenada, as it’s home to numerous wrecks including the famous ‘Titanic of the Caribbean’, the wreck of the cruise liner ‘Bianca C’, which sank in 1961.
Spice Island have teamed up with dive operation Aquanauts, and their dive shop is conveniently located at the resort offering various dive packages to suit all experience levels.
Food & drink
Spice Island is great for foodies too and is known for its gourmet cuisine and fine wines.
The stylish, open-air Oliver’s Restaurant offers a fine dining atmosphere serving à la carte breakfast and dinner daily. The menu changes every night and features excellent international cuisine as well as authentic local specialities.
The Sea & Surf Terraces is open for lunch, afternoon tea, drinks and snacks.
Spa Facilities
The spa here is superb. Janissa’s Spa is an elegant oasis of serenity tucked away behind private walls and tropical gardens, complete with reflection pool and outdoor relaxation lounge. Treatments include wraps, body polishes, facials and massages using the many local herbs and spices which are known for their restorative properties.

Antigua is said to have 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, but the island also boasts an impressive historical pedigree. No less a sailor than Admiral Nelson based his fleet here, and the easygoing Caribbean ambience of the island is complemented by a tangible British influence. The historic Nelson’s Dockyard is testament to this colonial history, though the luxury yachts bobbing in the water hint at a more glamorous side to modern day Antigua.
The people are incredibly friendly, and the island comes together to party every Sunday night as the sun sets at Shirley Heights, an old naval garrison overlooking the majestic English Harbour. The brightly coloured buildings and duty-free shopping of the capital, St John’s, make for an interesting half day excursion, while the southwest of the island is home to a picturesque landscape of rainforest, ruined forts and old sugar mills.
The beaches range from bustling stretches lined with lively bars to little visited bays and secluded coves. Escape the crowds by taking a trip over to sister island Barbuda, blessed with miles of unspoilt pink sands, or tread the road less travelled and explore Antigua’s rugged east coast, where conditions are ideal for a whole host of water sports. The more tranquil waters of the Caribbean Sea, meanwhile, offer ample opportunities for diving and snorkelling.

Head up to Shirley Heights for panoramic views, especially on a Sunday afternoon for the regular barbecue and concert at sunset.

Relax on the beach or take a day trip over to Barbuda, Antigua's little sister and largely undeveloped island.

Today you will be taken to the airport for your short flight to Grenada (via Barbados). You will then be transferred to Spice Island Resort where you will spend the next five nights.

Relax on beautiful Grand Anse Beach. Or, if you'd prefer to start with a little exploring, take a trip to the market at St George's, visit Westerhall rum distillery and discover the unusual underwater sculpture park.
Day 8
Grenada's lush and mountainous interior is well worth discovering and there are plenty of hiking and birdwatching opportunities.
Day 9
Head north to explore the fishing village of Gouyave, historic plantations and spice farms as well as remote but beautiful coastlines.
